Technological advancement has brought a lots of advantages to our day to activities in this generation unlike the previous ones where slates were being using during the school days.
These days, due to advancement of technology, most schools have introduced the use of digital materials for studying both in home and in school environment. These digital materials/instructional materials have influenced students’ learning to the extent that students don’t need to go to school before they will learn and understand.
Technology has ease our learning these days compare to the olden days, ranging from how to find someone to help you with your assignment/homework, this always serves as a herculean task for students in the olden days, I remembered when I was in secondary school, when there is no internet to research from, it is always hard to get assignment done in those days.
Nowadays, there is internet and is open for everyone to make research, contribute to online forum/community based on a subject matter etc, these has really helped students of nowadays in one way or the other for those that make use of the positive aspect.
Whatever that have an advantages will definitely have a disadvantages, I will explain in details some to the disadvantages of Technology on our generation in this post.
Unlike in the olden days where the major means of communication is through letter, signs etc. due to advancement in technology nowadays, we have several means of communication such as phone, email, etc. In the past generations, for someone in a state to communicate another person in another state, this requires a lots of stress, letter has to be sent by road to the recipient of the letter in another state. In the aspect of transportation, as we know the transportation is one of the keys to standard and stable economy, there are too much risk when it comes to transportation in the olden days, people have to risk their lives through land transportation. Imagine someone that want to travel from one state to another and the only means is by horse, this is too risky for their lives by then and it is too stressful as well.
When it comes to education, there are lots of educational resources in this generation, reading materials can be easily found online, online videos than will enhance learning can be easily gotten by students of nowadays, there are several online mediums for communication among students, these days, there are lots of online learning websites that are available for use for students, virtually everything that you can think of learning is now online, if you read articles and you don’t seems to understand the article, you can watch YouTube videos for better understanding.
These days, you can learn an IT skill online and you will be proficient in it, there are lots of resources online to acquire IT skill, ranging from website development, graphic design, video editing among others.
As said earlier, there is nothing with advantages that you won’t have disadvantages, due to the advancement of technologies in this generation, technology has its own disadvantages ranging from social media, porn website etc. Most students misuse social media these days, as a result of this, it always affects their academic performance.
